Our Core Elements
Our core elements are designed to include skills and techniques required for both the Scout and Guide Survival badges.
Ideal group size is 10 participants per element.
Life of Fire
Explores all things fire related, from different ignition sources to burning properties of the wood around them. This element also looks at the safe use of axe, knife and saw.
Teaches participants about wild food identification, gathering and preparation as well as looking at animal tracking and the environment around them.
Art of Shelter Building
Looks into the different types of shelters and when they are best used. Also covers useful knots and lashing used in shelter building and making gadgets that make a night out in a shelter easier.
Is your time to become the master chef of camp. This element covers all open cooking and cooking without utensils, also includes water filtering, purification, collect and storage.
Help and Rescue
This element teachers participants about understanding weather and unconventional navigation, as well as looking at survival equipment and kit packing.
